Since its September launch into Early Access, developer Full Circle and publisher Electronic Arts have continued to regularly update their popular open-world skateboarding game, Skate. Today marks the beginning of a brand new event, which also acts as the beginning of the end of the game’s debut season.

What is the new Skate event?

Dubbed the 7-Ply Maple Harvest event, this limited-time autumnal event celebrates San Van Maple, the wood used to shape the boards skaters use to ride around San Vansterdam. Featuring a 70’s vibe with its logo treatment, this new event includes three new park variations for the Gullcrest Village Community Park, as well as some earnable cosmetics to celebrate the occasion. Here’s a brief description of the event, which introduces some new lore to Skate.

“Of our two Season 1 events, the 7-Ply Maple Harvest Event is a little shorter, but we can’t miss celebrating one of the historic events in San Van that showcases our love for San Van Maple—the best wood we think makes a skateboard. The Harvest got its start in the early 20th century, but it wasn’t until the 1970s that skaters discovered the perfect window for harvesting San Van Maple – every seven years. Sorta fits with the perfect amount of layers to make a skateboard.”

Skate’s 7-Ply Maple Harvest Event will run from November 18 to December 2. Full Circle does claim that this will be a shorter event than what they have planned for the future. It will essentially conclude Season 1, which also ends on the same day.

Like its previous Skate-O-Ween event, Skate’s 7-Ply Maple Harvest Event will have players earn a new event currency to purchase items based on the event. This time around, the currency is Wooden Nickels. Players can earn the currency by completing Weekly Tasks and by claiming a free stash of Wooden Nickels daily in The Shop.
