There are just a few more days left on the PS Store’s Tokyo Game Show 2025 sale, which has brought discounted prices to some of the best PS4 and PS5 games available on the digital storefront. That includes this popular co-op shooter that released for PS4 in 2015.
Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is on sale on the PS Store
Originally developed by Overkill Software and published by 505 Games, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is currently 80% off on the PS Store. That brings the price down to $3.99 from its typical $19.99 price tag. PS4 and PS5 players who want to take advantage of this deal will need to act fast. The offer ends on October 9 at 2:59 a.m. ET.
“The CRIMENET network offers a huge range of dynamic contracts, and players are free to choose anything from small-time convenience store hits or kidnappings, to big league cyber-crime or emptying out major bank vaults for that epic PAYDAY,” reads the game’s description. “While in DC, why not participate in the local community, and run a few political errands?”
When Payday 2 was originally released, it was well-received by critics. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average review score of 79 across 51 critic reviews. In our review of the PS3 release of the game, we gave it a 7 out of 10.
“Payday 2 is not a game for people looking for something without flaws, as it currently rests, it is only a shell of the potential it holds… Thankfully, the game is tremendously fun when played with the right group and does work with friend invites, the sound is definitely a highlight and the missions, while repetitive, have objectives that spawn in random locations, giving it a great deal of replay value that adds to the much wanted chaos,” reads our review.
