While rumors suggested a possible change in Sony’s strategy regarding PC ports, the Japanese company can clearly be satisfied with the performance of its games.
Alinea Analytics estimates that PlayStation games have generated over $1.5 billion on Steam. Of this total, the Japanese company has pocketed $1.2 billion, as Valve takes a share of sales. This share is 30%, then 25% when a title reaches $10 million in sales, and 20% once it reaches $50 million.
According to this data, Helldivers 2 was the most successful title of the bunch with 12.7 million sales. It is followed by Horizon Zero Dawn with 4.5 million, God of War with 4.2 million, Days Gone with 3.4 million, and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered with 2.7 million.
However, the trend is rather negative when it comes to PlayStation productions on Steam. For example, God of War Ragnarรถk sold 2.5 times less than its predecessor, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sold half as much as the first installment.

It’s exciting to see PlayStation games making such a significant impact on Steam! This could open up new opportunities for gamers and developers alike. Looking forward to what Sony has planned for the future.
