Microsoft is currently very vocal about its future. As if trying to reassure gamers, executives from the American company’s video game division regularly speak to the media.
Now it’s the turn of Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, to speak out in the Japanese magazine Famitsu. During the interview, the businessman touched on a number of topics, starting with the future Xbox console that is currently on everyone’s lips.
Spencer made it clear that the machine to be announced by Microsoft will be considered a “first-party” console. He also explained that the ROG Xbox Ally gives clues about the future of the Xbox platform.
«This product suggests how the Xbox gaming platform will evolve in the future, connecting all your devices in one place».
As for games, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming briefly mentioned OD by the legendary Hideo Kojima. Kojima > «wants to create a very scary game», and the manufacturer intends to fully support him throughout the project, which will run on Unreal Engine 5.
Phil Spencer also reaffirmed that Halo Studios is looking to the future of the franchise using Epic Games’ engine and other technologies. Microsoft wants to give the teams the time they need to create the next Halo.
Finally, with regard to Forza, Xbox aims to release new games more frequently. The reduction in staff at Turn 10 Studios will enable its developers to support multiple projects and speed up production by supporting the main studio (Playground Games).
