PC Users Treated To 2026 Action-Adventure Game Freebie

PC gamers can finally get their hands on this upcoming 2026 action-adventure game, five years after its initial announcement (but folks on other platforms are going to be in for a slightly longer wait).

I enjoy watching The Game Awards, don’t get me wrong… but I’m starting to get exasperated with watching trailers for games that are, at best, two years away from release.

It’s mostly just difficult for me to get truly excited about a game trailer when stuff either ends up getting delayed or the initial gameplay trailer ends up looking nothing like the finished product. Either way, unless your game is coming out in less than a year, it may as well be vaporware to me until proven otherwise.

For the most part, that was the case for the trailers we saw during last night’s award ceremony. There was one exception to that rule however, as long as you own a PC.

Pragmata, the third-person action-adventure game from developer and publisher Capcom, is finally set to drop on April 24, 2026, but you can try it out for free right now by heading over to its Steam page.

You’d be forgiven for not having heard of Pragmata before, because it was initially announced back in June 2020 during a one-off reveal stream for the PlayStation 5.

To clarify, this was before the PlayStation 5 had even been released, so what exactly has taken this game so long?

Pragmata has been delayed roughly (from what I can tell) three different times, with its original release date set for 2022. Then it was delayed until 2023, and then it was delayed again– this time, indefinitely.

However, last night we finally got a new look at the game, as well as its new release date. More importantly however, Capcom also announced that a demo for the game is available now (but only on Steam).

As of writing, there are no reviews on Steam for the demo. Comments I could find strewn about Reddit do seem to be relatively positive too, especially regarding its performance on PC. Just don’t go into it expecting too much, because there’s only about 20 minutes of content in the demo.

If you aren’t on PC though, don’t worry. According to Capcom, the “Sketchbook” demo for Pragmata “will be available on other platforms at a later date”.

Keep an eye on Capcom’s socials if you’re keen to play it before release, because Pragmata will also be landing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2 when it drops next year.
