Paradox Interactive’s fourth quarter financial results were a complete disaster. The reason for this was the critical and commercial failure of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.
Although the publisher’s revenue reached $99 million (up 23% from the previous year), the company recorded an operating loss of $28 million. This equates to a 162% year-on-year decline. This was due to lower-than-expected sales of Bloodlines 2.
Depreciation and amortization related to the game totaled more than $77 million. This poor performance resulted in a heavy loss for Paradox in the quarter.
