Tuesday morning, Netflix dropped what will serve as the final teaser trailer for Stranger Things season 5 volume 2, spelling the end of the Upside Down.
A two-hour Stranger Things series finale is awaiting fans on New Year’s Eve, and to prepare those waiting to spend their end of 2025 in the Upside Down, Netflix and the Duffer Brothers have banded together to release one final trailer for the series. The trailer signals the end, and a tear-filled Jim Hopper (David Harbour) asks Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) to “fight one last time.” A series of clips from prior episodes is shown, as Hopper admits that Eleven was robbed of her childhood and faced horrors no kid should witness.

After a flashback sequence showing Eleven’s upbringing (or lack thereof), Eleven, Hopper, Kali Prasad (aka Eight), and Murray Bauman look towards bringing down Vecna, and Eleven prepares to enter the bath at Hawkins to enhance her powers once more. The trailer can be seen below, showing the beginning of the end.
Stranger Things season 5 picks up eighteen months after the events of season 4, when the Hawkins crew have been finally reunited, only for Vecna to split the earth as he begins his mission to reshape the world. Over the course of the first seven episodes, Season 5 has answered many of the mysteries of the Upside Down, even revealing what it is, and it appears the showdown for the ‘rightside up’ is about to commence.
As the looming threat of Vecna reaches its climax, the Stranger Things season 5 finale will air on New Year’s Eve (December 31). For theatre-goers, the finale will also be held at select locations for fans to attend in person at their nearest theatre. Fans willing and able to hit the theatres for the finale can head to the official site to check out where they can watch the end of the series.
