Just before its scheduled release on October 9, Yooka-Replaylee has been featured in quite a long gameplay video on IGN. This excerpt focuses exclusively on the Switch 2 version.
On social media, Playtonic has stated that its platform game will only run at 30 FPS on Nintendo’s console, be it in TV mode or handheld mode. This technical limitation is due to the fact that the developers only recently gained access to the development kits. The studio is also looking into the possibility of adding a Performance mode through an update coming after launch.
Finally, the demo of Yooka-Laylee on Switch 2 will not be available immediately. However, Playtonic wants to release it at a later date.
It’s always exciting to see new releases on the Switch! Yooka-Replaylee sounds like it has a lot of potential, even with the 30 FPS. Looking forward to seeing how it performs when it finally launches!
