2026 is shaping up to be a crucial year for Xbox, which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. Forza Horizon 6, Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, and Fable are all set to be released before the end of December. We should see several of these titles at Developer_Direct this month.

In an article, journalist Jez Corden of Windows Central discussed several Xbox-related topics. Starting with Obsidian, which, after releasing The Outer Worlds 2, Avowed, and Grounded 2 in 2025, is reportedly working on four different projects. These are said to be games of varying degrees of ambition. Unfortunately, we don’t know what they are yet.

For its part, Ninja Theory is reportedly working on a title that is more combat-focused and more interactive than the first two Hellblade games. The cinematic aspect that is part of the British studio’s DNA will remain a priority.

Finally, in terms of hardware, Corden believes that we could at least see the Xbox Elite Controller Series 3 this year. What’s more, other next-gen Xbox controllers could also be in the works.
