Nintendo plans several new films for its franchises

Nintendo intends to continue its foray into cinema. According to a financial report published in Japan, the company is currently working on several film adaptations of its licenses, each at a different stage of development.

After the huge success of the Super Mario Bros movie and the announcement of the live-action The Legend of Zelda movie scheduled for 2027, Nintendo seems keen to establish a lasting presence for its worlds on the big screen.

The report states that Nintendo will be directly involved in the production and financing of these projects to ensure consistency with its original works. No franchises have been confirmed yet, but rumors point to Metroid, Animal Crossing, and Donkey Kong being the potential candidates.
