It was only a matter of time until a Nintendo Direct of 2026, and that’s reportedly going to happen as early as next week. According to prominent leaker NatetheHate and GameXplain, a Nintendo Partner Direct will take place on Thursday, February 5. This was then corroborated by VGC, which said it had heard the same thing from sources.
If there is indeed a Nintendo Direct, it would certainly line up with what we typically see. For the last five years in a row, there’s been a Direct in either February or March, and it would especially make sense now, as we still don’t really know the Switch 2’s lineup for the coming year. Right now, we have dates for four different games: Mario Tennis Fever on February 12, Pokémon Pokopia on March 5, Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on March 26, and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on April 16. We also know that Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, and Splatoon Raiders are on the way.
Of course, a Partner Direct wouldn’t feature first-party Nintendo games, but it could still give us new Switch 2 exclusives and dates for ones we already know about. The most obvious title that will likely be featured is The Duskbloods, the new multiplayer exclusive from Dark Souls maker FromSoftware. We could also see new info for games like The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales and new third-party ports.
Keep in mind, of course, that this is all still rumoured, and we don’t know for a fact that the direct will be a “Partner” one yet.
There have also been rumours that we could see the next Pokémon Presents in February. Just yesterday, there was a post on r/GamingLeaksandRumours about Pokémon Masters’ Brazilian version potentially leaking the date of the next showcase, on February 27. By all accounts, it looks like February could be a big month for Nintendo.
