Nintendo didn’t want for third-party Switch 2 docks to stop working

When the Switch 2 system update 21.0.0 was rolled out, a serious problem arose. Some users noticed that their console no longer recognized their docks by another brand.

As a result, several third-party docks simply no longer work with the device. Nintendo responded with a statement sent to the Eurogamer website. The Japanese company said that this incompatibility was not intentional.

“Nintendo Switch 2 outputs audiovisuals once it detects that it is docked into a Nintendo Switch 2 Dock.

Nintendo Switch does the same, outputting audiovisuals once it detects that it is docked into a Nintendo Switch Dock. Nintendo does not have any intention to hinder or invalidate legal third-party dock compatibility.”

That being said, the company has made no mention on the rollout of a possible fix for this problem.
