Nintendo aims to produce 25 million Switch 2 consoles by March 2026

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been available for over four months and has sold around 8 million units worldwide. But the Japanese manufacturer has ambitious plans for the current financial year.

According to an article published by Bloomberg, the Japanese manufacturer intends to ramp up production of its console. As a result, 25 million Switch 2 consoles could roll off the production line before the end of March 2026.

“The Japanese company is asking its manufacturing partners to increase production, counting on continued demand during the upcoming holidays and New Year, according to people familiar with the matter. Nintendo, which began assembling the Switch 2 toward the end of the 2024 calendar year, may still adjust final production figures once it has a clearer idea of demand during the critical Christmas shopping period.”

In adittion to the release of Pokรฉmon Legends: Z-A this week, the Switch 2 will get several major titles at the end of the year, including Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Hyrule Warriors: Chronicles of the Seal, and Kirby Air Riders.
