New Free Steam Game Looks Like Portal 2 Mixed With Death Stranding

If you fancy doing some crimes with your buddies this weekend for free, then I suggest checking out this highly rated free game on Steam, because you’re already gonna feel like a thief when you cop this banger without having to pay for it.

One part Death Stranding delivery-based gameplay, one part Portal-style physics engine co-op nonsense, but an all-around heater.

Today’s free to download Steam game is Delivery & Beyond, a procedurally generated co-op game from developer FailCake and publisher HyenaQuest. Based on their Steam bio, FailCake and HyenaQuest are actually one in the same– and, they’re a solo dev.

The aim in Delivery & Beyond is to steal a bunch of stuff. That’s quite literally the entire gameplay loop. Steal stuff, sell it to your employer, and then go out and steal more stuff.

It’s sort of like Lethal Company in that respect, except you aren’t being chased by freaky abominations the entire time.

As of writing, Delivery & Beyond is currently sitting at a very respectable Very Positive score on Steam, with 89% of the 168 reviews coming out positive.

Here’s what the folks on Steam have to say about it.

“So good in coop, hopped into this with a friend unsure of what to expect and we ended up playing for 5 hours, it’s brilliant (and we’re looking forward to playing more),” writes Steam user doggycooldog.

“Great fun and the aesthetic touches and humour really bring the game to life, you can tell how much love has gone into this. Considering it’s a free game from a small developer it’s impressively polished too.”

“Fantastic co-op game that should absolutely not be free. Super fun gameplay and tons of wonderful indie flair that gives the game some major personality. Even if you aren’t a furry, I’d recommend trying it out with your friends,” commented Steam reviewer AtomicBanana.

“Only major issues are sound balance issues as most of the game is fairly quiet, especially the VC volume, but the end day recap music is way too loud. Definitely send the dev(s) some love on their ko-fi if you can afford it!”

Incredibly impressive project for a solo dev to pull off by themselves, so I highly suggest donating to them if you enjoy the game.

Otherwise, I’d keep an eye out for the “other crazy hyena games” they’re teasing in the near future, because if this is how hard they’ve cooked for a free game… imagine how much better a game they’ll actually charge for will be.
