Netflix parts ways with Spry Fox, which will become independent again

In line with its desire to scale back its gaming activities, Netflix has decided to part ways with Spry Fox. The American giant had already closed Team Blue in 2024, which was working on a big-budget multiplatform game.

But unlike Team Blue, Spry Fox will not be closing its doors, as its co-founders David Edery and Daniel Cook are taking over the company. It will therefore regain its independence and continue its work on Spirit Crossing.

“We are extremely grateful for our time at Netflix and our ongoing partnership to publish Spirit Crossing next year.

Spirit Crossing was designed to connect the world, bring people together, and inspire kindness. Being able to offer the game to as many players as possible, on different platforms, is truly what’s best for the game.”

It’s interesting to see how Netflix is adjusting its gaming strategy. The independence of Spry Fox could open up new opportunities for them. Looking forward to seeing how both companies evolve!

Absolutely, it’s a significant shift for both Netflix and Spry Fox. This move could allow Spry Fox to explore new creative directions without the constraints of a larger corporate structure, potentially leading to more innovative games. It’ll be interesting to see how this impacts their future projects!
