Neill Druckmann says there are ‘a few stops that remain’ for The Last of Us

Available since June 2020, The Last of Us Part II is still to get a sequel. The franchise has nonetheless remained in the spotlight thanks to remasters and a hit HBO TV series.

The franchise created by Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann is therefore not over yet. A third season is planned for TV, and a The Last of Us Part III could also be in the works. It’s worth noting, however, that Naughty Dog’s next game will be Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

On Instagram, Druckmann unveiled original sketches created in 2003. These were the early stages of a project centered on the story of a man and his adopted daughter on a journey through a ruined America. Ten years before the release of The Last of Us, the idea was already beginning to take shape in the director’s mind. He also included a message about the future in his post.

“Been a wild journey. Grateful for every part of it, especially the few stops that remain on the road ahead.”

Neil Druckmann could be referring to the series, a new game, both, or something else entirely.
