On March 2, publisher Nacon was officially placed under bankruptcy protection by the Lille Métropole Commercial Court. This situation was caused by its parent company, Big Ben Interactive, which is facing financial difficulties.
This week, Nacon has dragged four of its subsidiaries into this downward spiral. Spiders (Greedfall), Cyanide (Styx), Kylotonn (Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown), and motion capture company Nacon Tech have filed for insolvency. Restructuring proceedings have therefore been initiated for these companies.
At present, the future of the studios remains uncertain. They will need to find solutions to ensure the long-term viability of their operations and protect their employees. Of course, their survival is closely tied to that of Nacon.
