October is shaping up to be a great month for PlayStation players as yet another Xbox blockbuster game is expected to be announced for the PS5 soon. Back in July, we reported that Halo Studios was teasing an announcement at this month’s Halo World Championship. Now, two insiders have suggested that the announcement could be a Halo: Combat Evolved remake.
Halo: Combat Evolved remake possibly the next big Xbox game on PS5
The fresh rumors come from reliable Halo insider, who goes as Mr. Rebs or Rebs Gaming, and XboxEra. According to reports, the game is being co-developed by Halo Studios and Virtuos — the developer behind high-profile games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
The report further claims that Halo Studios is using a hybrid engine approach with Unreal Engine 5, which has caused some concern. Players have pointed out that Oblivion Remastered suffered from performance issues, which could plague the rumored Halo remake as well.
Following Gears of War’s launch on the PS5, we were expecting Halo to be next in line. How soon the remake will release is anybody’s guess, but worth noting that there wasn’t a massive gap between Gears of War’s PS5 announcement and release.
