The last five years of gaming since 2021 were marked by some very strong open-world games: Elden Ring, Tears of the Kingdom, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Valheim, and more. They all delivered quality on all fronts: excellent gameplay loops, innovative features, emotional storytelling, and interesting worlds begging to be explored.
