We’ve learnt more on The Expanse: Osiris Reborn in a 48-minute interview on the YouTube channel Gaming Interviews in which Leonid Rastorguev and Yuliya CHernenko, Game Design Director and Producer respectively, answer a whole host of questions.
There is a lot of information to note. The game will have a playtime of 30 to 40 hours depending on your play style. Players are encouraged to try out new weapons and skills, but at some point they will have to commit to certain paths and will not be able to change indefinitely. Decisions mainly influence relationships, dialogues, and certain events. For example, you can choose to ignore your companions’ stories and even watch them die without explicit warnings.
Character and companion customization is extensive, with backgrounds, dynamic relationships, possible romances, and optional narrative arcs. The gameplay combines shooting, gadgets, and tactical abilities in a realistic and believable sci-fi universe inspired by games such as Mass Effect and The Division, with exploration, social hubs, and side quests that have a tangible impact on the world.
The title does not yet have a release date.
