More details on Control Resonant

Among the big announcements at The Game Awards 2025 was Control Resonant. The second entry in the Remedy saga will be released in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.

The Finnish studio has confirmed that it is indeed a direct sequel to the first game. This time, we will play as Dylan Faden, the brother of Jesse (the main character of the first Control), who will try to find her. The story will offer an entry point for newcomers who won’t need to play the first game.

We will be faced with an action RPG set in an open Manhattan that can be explored very freely. Missions, battles, and events can be completed in any order. The world will be lively and strange, encouraging replayability.

The progression system will give us freedom in our choices of upgrades (combat, supernatural powers, exploration, etc.). Finally, Dylan will have at his disposal the Aberrant, a melee weapon capable of transforming on demand. It can take the form of a hammer, two fast blades, and much more.

Remedy has stated that Control Resonant is the most ambitious game in its history yet.
