MindsEye is preparing a mission to gather evidence of sabotage at the studio

As of now, this is quite puzzling. The studio behind MindsEye is preparing a new narrative mission designed to directly integrate elements related to the sabotage allegations surrounding its launch into the game. According to the CEO of Build a Rocket Boy, this mission will serve, in particular, to share with players some of the “evidence” the studio claims to have gathered regarding a malicious campaign against the game.

It’s called Blacklist, and it will introduce a new female protagonist, though specific details about her remain unclear. It is expected to blend storytelling with elements inspired by these allegations, blurring the line between in-game content and the studio’s communications.

The CEO maintains that the game’s critical failure in 2025 was not solely due to technical issues, but also to an organized attempt to damage its reputation. This stance is part of a broader controversy, as the studio has previously mentioned ongoing investigations and even the involvement of judicial authorities. It’s worth noting that MindsEye had a very rocky launch, widely criticized for its bugs and overall quality. It currently holds a score of 39 on Metacritic for the PC version.

This is what the CEO has said in an interview with GamesBeat:

“We’re also taking this opportunity to share some evidence of the sabotage with the community. […] We have very solid evidence and have conducted thorough investigations in the months following the launch. We have identified the parties involved, and the case is now in the hands of British and American authorities.”

No specific date has been announced regarding the release of the update.
