Microsoft wants to make it easier for devs to release games on Xbox

The American manufacturer wants to attract more and more developers to its ecosystem. To do this, Microsoft has decided to remove yet anothe barrier to make it easier for studios to release their productions on Xbox.

The company led by Phil Spencer has decided to publish its guide to publishing games on Xbox online. It can be accessed directly and without any confidentiality agreement. The brand’s stated goal is to allow independent creators to plan the release of their games without any restrictions.

Ed Stewart, Senior Program Manager for Xbox, announced the news in an article published on the Microsoft website.

“By opening our Game Publishing Documentation, weโ€™re removing barriers to learning and making it easier for teams of all sizes to understand what it takes to ship a game on Xbox.

Whether youโ€™re a first-time independent developer or a seasoned publisher, you can now browse the guide freely, share it with your team, and reference it throughout development.”

This new approach should ease development of games for Xbox consoles and PC.
