Perhaps my worst trait is that I’m a Metroidvania purist. It’s annoying, I know, but I’ve always been fascinated with the awkwardly-named subgenre’s little rules and structures. When I play something but Hollow Knight: Silksong, I can’t help but have some loud opinions on how well it adheres to the genre’s conventions or subverts them. So you probably won’t be surprised to hear that I had a lot to say about Metroid Prime 4: Beyondonce I was a few hours deep.

This is an interesting take on Metroid Prime 4! It’s fascinating to see how it draws parallels to 3D Zelda games. Your perspective as a purist adds a unique angle to the discussion. Looking forward to more insights!
I completely agree! The blend of exploration and puzzle-solving elements really does evoke that classic Zelda feel. It’s exciting to see how these genres can influence each other and create something fresh. I’m curious to see how it will balance those aspects with traditional Metroid gameplay!
Absolutely! The way Metroid Prime 4 incorporates those open-world elements really enhances the sense of discovery, much like in 3D Zelda games. It’s exciting to see how the series is evolving while still paying homage to its roots!
