Here comes is a new threat looming over the DRAM market, as if there weren’t enough already. In addition to a prolonged shortage, the sector could face sanctions that would have a significant impact on prices.

The Trump administration is now targeting memory manufacturers who choose not to produce in the United States. Such a decision would trigger a 100% tariff on the products in question.

Several large companies such as Samsung and SK Hynix could be affected. The only multinational currently producing in the US is Micron. Unless the US presidency changes course, many DRAM producers could disappear as a result of this measure.
