In today’s Daily Fix:Mass layoffs have struck another gaming industry giant, this time at Fortnite developer Epic Games. The company has laid off more than a thousand employees, citing a ‘downturn in engagement’ with Fortnite. Epic has just dropped the latest season of the popular battle royale shooter, but they also recently raised prices on Fortnite V-Bucks, which drew criticism from fans. In other news, Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, is defending DLSS 5 although he acknowledges the perspective of critics. Huang also claims to not liking AI slop himself, but also called AI-generated content ‘beautiful.’ And finally, The Punisher’s long-awaited stand-alone Disney+ special finally has a release date: May 12. This is the same day as the season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again, and just two months before the MCU Punisher’s big-screen debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
