Lego Game Boy Restocked At Amazon, And It’s Shipping Early

The Lego Game Boy doesn’t officially launch until October 1, but Amazon is shipping units now, with orders arriving as soon as today (September 26). The retailer had been sold out of preorders for about a month, so it’s very possible the 421-piece set will disappear again. Outside of Amazon, the only other major retailer with stock available is Walmart–though Walmart still lists the $60 display model with its original release date. As of September 26, preorders are sold out at Target, Best Buy, GameStop, and the Lego Store.

The brick-built Game Boy is almost exactly the same size as the handheld that quickly became a worldwide sensation when it hit store shelves in Japan and North America in 1989. This looks like an awesome display piece, and retro Nintendo fans are sure to appreciate the nostalgic interactive elements.
