Divinity was announced last December at The Game Awards and is the next big title from the devs behind Baldur’s Gate 3. Even though the RPG isn’t expected to come out for several years, Larian Studios has shared some interesting details about its develioment.
In a lengthy post published on X on March 31, 2026, Swen Vincke, Larian’s CEO, shared insights into the project’s progress. He explains, in particular, that the “game is coming alive”, although there is a “a lot that is still rough or missing.”
I’m talking about being in that stage of development where there is a lot that is still rough or missing, but where you sense that a game is coming alive. Something was created out of nothing and you now get to experience what it feels like, knowing that things are still very moldable and that from here onwards, it can only improve. It’s a good moment in the life of any game. And it’s one I expect many developers recognize.”
For now, Divinity does not have a release date or window.
