The next installment of the God of War saga may come with a big change. According to the latest rumors, Santa Monica Studio is working on a new game set in the franchise’s universe, but is going for a different approach.
Insider NateTheHate, who is always extremely well informed, says that this game will be more action-oriented. Furthermore, it will apparently not be Kratos, but Faye that the player will control. She is the ice giantess of Jötunheim, wife of Kratos and mother of Atreus. Since she already died in God of War (2018), we can assume that the Santa Monica title will be a prequel.
Finally, the announcement is expected this year, ahead of a launch in the first half of 2027. Of course, a delay is always possible.
