Keeper review: Xbox’s latest is a strange, meditative journey

Leave it to the creative minds at Double Fine to tackle those questions in inventive fashion. For its Xbox-funded follow-up to Psychonauts 2, the studio ditches all commercial expectations to meditate on post-humanism in a minimalist adventure about a walking lighthouse and its avian pal. It’s a surreal idea that doesn’t always find the gameplay to match its imagination, but its breathtaking artistry shoulders much of the weight. Keeper’s strange and wonderful world serves as a gentle reminder that human beings are not the center of the universe; time will march on, and glorious life will continue to bloom once we’re gone.
