Hytale reportedly peaked at 2.8 million concurrent players at launch

We learned the good news on Platform X, thanks to a user’s post. After many twists and turns, including a cancellation and resale of the project, the famous game Hytale was released yesterday in early access on an independent launcher. It was possible to pre-order one of the editions of the game and pre-download it.

Simon Collins-Laflamme, founder of the Hypixel studio that is now developing the game, announced that the game had just reached no less than 2.8 million concurrent players. While this may seem surprising at first glance, it’s important to remember that Hytale was a highly anticipated and closely followed project, especially after the twists and turns of recent months.

Simon had already announced that the studio was expecting nearly a million players at launch, based on the number of pre-orders. He also pointed out that thanks to these pre-orders, the studio’s future was already secure for the next two years.

As a reminder, the game is not available on Steam at this time, but only via the independent launcher.
