Hytales is back after being shut down by Riot Games last june! Its founder, Simon Collins-Laflamme, announced this week that he had bought the company back from Riot Games.
The studio has hired more than 30 employees and, at the same time, obtained the rights to Hytale, which had been canceled when the company closed.
“We are thrilled to announce the acquisition of Hytale from Riot Games. While it wasn’t the right fit for them to continue developing the game in its current form, they wanted what was best for the players, which is why we get to enjoy a revamped version. We thank Riot Games for making this possible.”
Hypixel Studios will also be going back to the original version of Hytale. The studio is now completely independent and has committed to funding the game “for the next 10 years”. An early access release date and price will be announced in the coming days.
Hytale will initially only be available on Windows PC. Other platforms may follow. At launch, it will include a creative mode, an exploration mode, and the ability to create mods.
