Minecraft-inspired RPG Hytale hasn’t been shy about encouraging modders since it released in early access in January, and now it’s hoping to entice the creation of even more mods with a $100,000 modding competition.
In collaboration with mod distributor CurseForge, developer Hypixel is offering a total prize pool of $100,000, spread across three categories of mods. The first, Worldgen V2, asks modders to innovate on Hytale’s world by building a new biome, region, or world with “a clear theme, strong landmarks, and great exploration.” The second, NPCs, asks modders to create new NPCs including critters, enemies, or boss fights. The third, Experiences, is looking for modders to innovate on gameplay with new modes, minigames, challenges, and more.
