December 2025’s first PS Plus Extra, Premium game is rolling out early, starting with Japan/Asia where it’s Tuesday, December 2. As previously announced, Red Dead Redemption‘s native PS5 port is launching on the service day-one. The upgrade is free to own for those who previously purchased the PS4 version.
Red Dead Redemption PS5 not the only PS Plus Extra, Premium December 2025 game releasing early
Joining Red Dead Redemption early this month is Skate Story, which is also launching on PS Plus day-one on December 8.
The remaining Extra and Premium games will be confirmed next week and will go live on December 16. However, we do know that PS2 classic Soul Calibur III is among the games headed to Premium.
A reminder for PS Plus users who currently own Red Dead Redemption on PS4: make sure to claim and download your free PS5 upgrade directly via the game’s PS Store page. Avoid claiming anything via PS Plus because Sony has bungled it’s game license system since the service’s revamp and has made no effort to fix anything.
If you claim Red Dead Redemption PS5 upgrade or download it via PS Plus, there’s a chance you’ll be locked out of owning the title altogether.
