Highguard has dropped a new story cinematic centered around Atticus and his crew of Wardens, alongside patch notes for Episode 2, which brings a lot of exciting additions to the game.
The story cinematic is quite entertaining, with Atticus and his crew showcasing some astounding abilities in their assault on an enemy base. There’s a lot to like, from an astounding siege engine to a decidedly pitched battle against some rival Wardens who almost manage to turn the tide against our heroes. However, they only serve to awaken Atticus’s latent powers with some jaw-dropping results.
Even more exciting than the cinematic is the arrival of Ekon, a Warden who wields the shapeshifting powers of his Wildwalker ancestors. As the potentially last surviving scion of the long-forgotten race, his abilities are sure to be a surprise to all who encounter them, his direwolf form invoking fear and awe among those who face him. He’s on the hunt for his missing mentor and isn’t going to let anything stand in his way.
Aside from Ekon’s debut, a new mount type (the Wolf) alongside a Ranked Mode, with some very detailed matchmaking conditions designed to make each fight a fair one. A new location called Skydrift is also being added, along with some much-awaited improvements to the Gear Up Phase. It’s quite an extensive list of patch notes this time around, with a lot of tweaks and gameplay improvements being made to allow Highguard to retain the momentum it has managed to achieve since it made its 5v5 Raid Mode permanent.
