Highguard reaches a peak of 100,000 players, but with very negative reviews on Steam

Announced at The Game Awards, Highguard picqued the interest of the community. After being released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S this Monday, the game peaked at nearly 100,000 players on Steam alone… but with very poor reviews. However, it was developed by Wildlight Entertainment, a California-based studio whose members include former Respawn developers who worked on Apex Legends, Titanfall, and even Call of Duty.

At the time of writing, the game has only 31% positive reviews out of 19,000 written, leaving a very negative overall rating for the free-to-play game. The negatives are mainly about the size of the map, bugs, and optimization.
