Hideo Kojima was supposed to be one of the main speakers of the GDC Festival of Gaming 2026, which will take place from March 9 to 13. Sadly, the man has ended up cancelling his trip to San Francisco.
The Japanese creator won’t be able to deliver the event’s opening speech. No reason has been given for his absence. Kojima Productions has nevertheless issued an apology and confirmed that members of the studio’s development team will be in attendance.
“We understand that this will be disappointing for fans and attendees who were looking forward to hearing him speak, and we want to offer our deepest apologies.”
Last week, Hideo Kojima revealed that he was in the process of editing a new trailer. An announcement for Death Stranding 2 or OD could therefore be made shortly.
