Halo Meets Cyberpunk 2077 In Huge Upcoming Open-World Release

If G-Rebels hasn’t yet crossed your radar, I’m about to change that.

If you’re looking for something that combines the high octane action of the Halo franchise with a futuristic world not too dissimilar to that which you’ll find in Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll most definitely get something out of this upcoming release.

Developed by Reakktor Studios and due to be published by Senatis, G-Rebels is described as an “action-packed flight sim in a dystopian open world full of intrigue, free exploration, and dangerous missions”.

“As part of an elite unit, it is your job to ensure law and order. A secret mission calls everything into question: are you on the right side or part of a conspiracy?” the synopsis teases.

I urge you to go and have a look at the title’s gameplay because G-Rebels could be a sleeper hit; what’s been released by devs looks incredibly promising.

The game is set in the year 2684 where Earth has been completely flooded following a major catastrophic event.

As I teased above, you’re part of an elite unit in a powerful city state where you’ll maintain law and order in an “ultra-modern glider”, essentially a helicopter of sorts.

Players will “discover vibrant metropolises, outposts, research facilities, factories, etc. in a freely explorable world of more than 12,000 square kilometres”.

There is a main narrative for you to follow, although you can push that to one side if you just want to explore and earn cash.

For that latter part, you can earn money via work as a bounty hunter, racing pilot, mercenary, pirate, adventurer, or bodyguard.

That money will then be put back into your aircraft as you fit it out with upgrades.

This won’t be a smooth journey as you’ll have your fair share of enemies who will seek to knock you clean out of the sky, so be sure to upgrade your weapons and shields.

You may have the skills to hack into their machines to sabotage them from the inside.

There’s a dynamic weather system and a day and night cycle, so G-Rebels should look gorgeous.

When and where is it set to arrive?

G-Rebels is currently only scheduled to launch on PC via Steam.

We can only hope that should its PC launch go well, console versions of the title surface further down the line.

There’s no set release date for the game just yet, but it is targeting a 2025 release so with less than two months to go within this year, we should get some news soon.

If you like the sound of G-Rebels, the very best thing you can do is wishlist the title to show the devs your support.
