Guillermo del Toro is an undisputed master of storytelling, and at long last, his adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein is now streaming on Netflix, alongside a limited US theatrical run. Fans of the films will want to check out two upcoming books that offer a deeper look into the film’s creation. The first, Frankenstein: Written and Directed by Guillermo del Toro, launches on October 28 and goes behind the scenes of the movie. This will be followed by Frankenstein: The Complete Screenplay on November 25, which is a hardcover edition of the film’s complete script that includes a selection of extra material.

Mary Shelley’s original novel–which is titled Frankenstein: Or, The Modern Prometheus–was first published in 1818, yet it remains a popular book even two centuries later. If you want to read it for yourself, several new and upcoming editions of the book are available. Frankenstein – Netflix Tie-in Edition is a new paperback printing of Shelley’s novel featuring new cover art from del Toro’s film.
