Back in September 2022, hacker Arion Kurtaj managed to get hold of and release around 90 videos of a development version of GTA VI. A member of the Lapsus$ group, he was sentenced to live in a secure hospital until further notice.
Recently, the 20-year-old Briton apparently managed to smuggle a phone into his prison. In messages exchanged with a certain Omar, Kurtaj talks about GTA VI again and pretends to be surprised that the game’s source code has not yet been leaked. This suggests that it could be in the possession of someone outside Rockstar Games.
Of course, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt. Arion Kurtaj could simply be trying to generate buzz. However, if he is telling the truth and the source code were to leak, the consequences could be devastating for the game.
