GTA IV looks better than ever thanks to path tracing via RTX Remix

Many gamers are eagerly awaiting a hypothetical remaster of Grand Theft Auto IV. While waiting for an official solution from Rockstar Games, PC gamers will soon have an alternative that visually, will blow them away.

A new video reveals the benefits of the RTX Remix modding platform for applying path tracing to GTA IV. The game runs in 4K and 1440p with DLSS and Frame Generation technologies enabled. While the 60 FPS isn’t consistent, the visual improvements are clearly worth checking out.

The mod is not yet publicly available and some aspects still need work (character models, low-quality textures, etc.). However, the game already features incredible reflections and effects. Lighting and shadows have also been modernized.

The mod is currently in the testing phase.
