A backend update on the PlayStation Store suggests Rockstar could be preparing to open pre-orders for GTA 6, ahead of its November launch.
Rockstar has been relatively quiet since it delayed GTA 6 by six months in November last year, leaving many worried another delay could be on the cards.
Take-Two Interactive insisted last month that GTA 6 is still on track to launch November 19, 2026, with marketing for the title slated to start in the summer. However, we’re still far enough out where plans could change over the next few months.
If you need some reassurance, there are new signs of activity in the backend of the PlayStation Store, suggesting Rockstar could be preparing a pre-order announcement.
As reported by X account PlayStation Game Size, which monitors backend updates on the PlayStation Store, title IDs for GTA 6 have been added to the database. ‘I expect we’ll see something about the game soon, probably the start of pre-orders,’ they speculate.
Two different title IDs for GTA 6 have been discovered. It’s claimed these aren’t tied to separate editions but different regions, so there’s perhaps not much to read into at this point. As PlayStation Game Size outlines, title IDs being added to the database doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll see a price anytime soon, as it ‘depends on the publisher’.

There is already a wishlist page on the PlayStation Store for GTA 6, so these IDs could be a preliminary step before it does open pre-orders. As for when this could happen, however, it’s difficult to tell, but if marketing is planned for the summer, some kind of announcement could be locked in for May.
Last month, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stressed how, as they get closer to marketing rollouts, they’re more confident about its chances of hitting the release date.
‘Any time you’re getting closer to marketing beats, you’re obviously in a place where your confidence level is as high as it can be,’ Zelnick told IGN last month.
The scepticism around GTA 6 sticking to its launch date has left other developers playing chicken with each other to avoid its blast zone. Sony recently announced Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on September 15, far from November, but Microsoft has yet to put dates on Fable and Gears Of War: E-Day, which are expected to launch this autumn.
