Fears that GTA 6 will be delayed one more time continue to linger as we had toward its release date of November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox consoles. Ever since Rockstar Games announced in November 2025 that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be pushed back a second time, many have worried that the game wouldn’t make it on time and come out in 2027. We haven’t heard much about the progress on the game for more than four months since then, with the most recent trailer (that’s Trailer 2) being revealed on all the way back in May 2025. Meanwhile, the developer has instead revealed update after update on GTA Online while we wait for more information. So it comes to little surprise that some fans are unsure about GTA 6’s intended November release, despite how many times Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick says he is confident that the date will stick.

Some still fear yet another Grand Theft Auto 6 delay

As of April 1 (we swear this isn’t an April Fools joke), 28% of people believe that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be delayed for the third time based on a bet on Polymarket. Nearly $190,000 has already been placed into the pot for the market so far, showing how widespread the topic of a possible delay has been.

On a similar note, another Polymarket bet, which has a volume over $19 million, has asked what events will happen before Grand Theft Auto 6 comes out. 57% think that a new Rihanna album, 49% believe Bitcoin will hit $1 million, and another 49% think Jesus Christ will return before the game sees the light of day.

On the flipside, there are far more people (72%) who are not concerned about GTA 6 being pushed back again. And looking at the history of the first bet mentioned, the percentage of people who put money on the game being delayed again has decreased over the last three months. On January 9, 55% of betters agreed that GTA 6’s launch would be postponed again, and since then this number has been effectively cut in half, perhaps due to a few scraps of information we’ve learned recently.

One user on the GTA 6 Reddit notes that April 1 marks the first time that we’ve entered the fiscal year for the game’s release, which some see as good news that it won’t be delayed again. The idea goes that Rockstar’s 2027 fiscal year runs from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027, so if the company wanted to push the title back one more time, it would have done so already. Meanwhile, other fans have noticed that Rockstar in March is hiring game testers on LinkedIn for its studio in Bangalore, India, suggesting that GTA 6 could be in its final testing phase and needs more people to look for bugs and performance issues.

It’s expected that we’ll learn much more about the fate of Grand Theft Auto 6 in the middle of May when Rockstar Games has its earnings conference call. Now that the game is officially in the new fiscal year, the developer will need to report on its progress and what its future plans are. If history serves, Rockstar tends to drop significant news before its conference call, so if GTA 6 isn’t delayed, we should learn much more information about the game whether it’s pre-order information, possible bundle deals (like one for PS5), and new trailers. Then after the conference call, we should see the developer ramp up the marketing for the summer. With any luck, this will include in-depth trailers explaining the many gameplay systems for GTA 6 and its improvements over 2013’s Grand Theft Auto V, along with how its version of GTA Online will work.
