GTA 5 Players Become Monsters In This Chilling Gameplay Change

GTA V players become absolute monsters after we see the game from a new chilling gameplay change.

Well, when I say we become monsters, the truth is, we’ve always been monsters when it comes to Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series. Ever since its inception in the 90s, players have been ruthlessly running down NPC pedestrians, minding their own business on the sidewalk.

Over the years, as the Grand Theft Auto series has evolved into the realm of the 3D open-world, gameplay, visuals and AI have become significantly advanced. Take, for example, the NPCs in GTA V. They act like real people, going about their daily lives.

For the most part, the NPCs have done no wrong to us, other than the odd yell of abuse. But for the most part, they’re pretty harmless. Yet, that has never stopped us from punching them in the face, running them over and gunning them down.

To be honest, we probably don’t think about the consequences of our actions. It never crosses our minds that when we club Jeff over the head with a purple penetrator, he might not make it home to his NPC wife and kids. However, perhaps this chilling perspective shared by Twitter user GTASixInfo might change our minds.

One GTA V NPC Was Just Having a Number Two!

Oddly, unless I’ve missed him, I never saw Trevor Phillips in the two-plus-minute murder montage, and you’d think out of all the three playable characters of GTA V, he’d be front and centre. Instead, we see Michael De Santa and Franklin Clinton brutally murdering NPCs.

Even the clips of NPCs casually driving down the road, and reacting in terror as another NPC gets hit by another car or flung from a building. It’s also interesting to see the perspective of an NPC react to someone else being killed.

“Watching Free Guy changed my whole perspective on NPCs,” replied Eddie_new_life, referring to the 2021 comedy movie starring Ryan Reynolds.

Heck, who am I kidding? This video isn’t chilling, because I was laughing throughout. Come to think of it, is something wrong with me? Probably.

GTA V is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. As for GTA VI, that’s currently scheduled to be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The PC port hasn’t been announced yet.
