Ghost of Yōtei is off to a strong sales start in the United Kingdom, according to Christopher Dring of The Game Business. Sucker Punch’s critically acclaimed open-world action adventure topped physical charts for the week, dethroning EA Sports FC 26 (which debuted the week prior). Considering how popular EA’s franchise is in the region, this is pretty impressive.
It also sold nearly three times as many physical copies as Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the Nintendo Switch. In a follow-up tweet, Dring noted that physical sales are about 40 percent down from Ghost of Tsushima, but attributed this to increased digital sales and how Sony’s first-party titles were “often very close” to 50/50 in physical-to-digital sales in the past.
The publisher hasn’t offered any update on Ghost of Yōtei’s sales numbers, so stay tuned for further information. It’s currently available on PS5 – check out our review, where we praised the combat, presentation, and open world design (and went into more details here).
