Ghost Of Yotei Guide – How To Get All 5 Melee, 3 Ranged, And 7 Quickfire Weapons

Aside from Atsu’s trusty katana, there are a fair number of weapons for her to discover and utilize in Ghost of Yotei. These range from more melee weapons to primitive firearms to rudimentary grenades.

This guide for Ghost of Yotei lists all of the weapons to be discovered by Atsu across the three major groups of melee, ranged, and quickfire.

Melee

Wolf Blade Katana

Most effectively used against single-wielded Katanas.

Default starting weapon.

Dual Katana

Most effectively used against Polearms such as Yari or Naginata.

Complete “Way Of The Dual Katana” and learn under Master Hanbei.

Odachi

Most effectively used against Brutes.

Complete “Way Of The Odachi” over the course of “The Saito Brothers” and learn under Master Yoshida.

Yari

Most effectively used against Sickles such as Dual Katana or Kusarigama.

Complete “Way Of The Yari” over the course of “The Oni” and learn under Sensei Takahashi.

Kusarigama

Most effectively used against Shields.

Complete “Way Of The Kusarigama” over the course of “The Kitsune” and learn under Master Enomoto.

Acquiring all Melee weapons will earn you the trophy/achievement “Tools Of A Warrior”.

Ranged

Hankyu

A medium shortbow for fairly fast firing. Also very effective for shooting while airborne in conjunction with techniques and charms.

Complete “Old Inn” in order to unlock Ran The Bowyer at Yotei’s Shadow Inn, who is the merchant that will sell you the Hankyu for 300 Coins.

Yumi

A heavy longbow for power shots. Slower to draw, but longer ranged and penetrative to helmets, use this for sniping from afar.

Complete “Old Inn” in order to unlock Ran The Bowyer at Yotei’s Shadow Inn, who is the merchant that will sell you the Yumi for 2000 Coins.

Tanegashima

This firearm has the slowest rate of fire, but does the greatest damage with its penetrative rounds.

During “The Storm Breaks” over the course of “The Saito Brothers”.

Acquiring all Ranged weapons will earn you the trophy/achievement “Take Aim”.

Quickfire

Kunai

Throwing knives that come in handy with assassination techniques.

During “The Winter Farms” over the course of “The Kitsune” in order to unlock Hana The Kunai Artisan, who is the merchant that will supply you with Kunai.

Metsubushi

A ninja style deployable, the Metsubushi is a blowable powder that blinds adversaries caught in its cloud.

Defeat the bounty boss Crow Genzo in combat.

Scorch Bomb

Essentially grenades, Scorch Bombs are best used against clumped enemies for maximum area of effect.

Complete “The Bomb Maker” in order to unlock Ina The Bomb Maker, who is the merchant that will supply you with Scorch Bombs.

Blind Bomb

Essentially flashbangs, Blind Bombs are an improvement on Metsubishi offering added range as well as disorienting enemies.

Complete “Fight Fire With Fire” on behalf of Ina The Bomb Maker, who is the merchant that will supply you with Blind Bombs.

Oni Flame

Douse your melee weapon with the Oni Flame in order to set it ablaze and add fire damage to your now unblockable strikes, as well as setting enemies themselves alight.

Complete “Twin Wolves, Twin Hearts” over the course of “The Oni”.

Smoke Bomb

Make a ninja-esque escape by deploying these enemy vision-obscuring bombs.

Complete “Poison And Lies” over the course of “The Kitsune” in order to unlock Oyuki, who is the merchant that will supply you with Smoke Bombs.

Tanzutsu

A single-shot ranged sidearm for rapid deployment in emergencies.

Complete “Guns and Consequences” over the course of “The Saito Brothers”.

Acquiring all Quickfire weapons will earn you the trophy/achievement “Quick Draw”.
