A free PS5 upgrade has been stealth-dropped for a gorgeous 2019 PS4 adventure game alongside surprise new DLC. Mooneye Studios’ Lost Ember originally launched on the PS4, but its new DLC skips last-gen platforms.
Lost Ember: Rekindled Edition is a free PS5 upgrade for existing owners
Lost Ember: Rekindled Edition PS5 version can be claimed for free via the PS Store by all existing owners of the PS4 copy. The DLC, titled Legendary Souls, is a separate purchase for $4.99.
Those interested in the DLC are warned that it contains spoilers for the base game, so the developer recommends beating Lost Ember before jumping into Legendary Souls. As for what the DLC brings, it continues the main story in a new open world featuring all animals and soul quests for some characters.
Lost Ember’s PS5 trophy list is identical to the PS4 list, but we can’t confirm at the moment if the Platinum auto-pops or not. The DLC comes with its own set of trophies, which does impact the overall completion percentage.
The Rekindled Edition is a full remaster with 4K and HDR support. It’s available on the PS4 as well, and replaces the original release.
“Experience the contrasting stories of the fall of mankind and the lush life in a world reclaimed by nature with a wolf as your main character and a determined companion at your side,” reads an official overview.
Players with a PS Plus Premium subscription can stream the title.
