In amongst battling creatures, charming out way through villagers or taking down the various big bosses, Baldur’s Gate 3 has one very important side-quest: finding the love of your life.
Released back in mid 2023, Baldur’s Gate 3 went on to quickly cement itself as one of the best video game releases of all time, going as far as to achieving record-breaking awards success.
Winning multiple Game of the Year awards, the Larian Studios RPG was praised for its excellent turn-based combat, incredible performances from its cast, writing, and production quality.
Since its release, Larian Studios has been working hard on bringing new and exciting content to the game courtesy of frequent patches and updates and, as a result, Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to flourish over two years since its release.
However, it is not just its official developers working on new content for Baldur’s Gate 3, it is also its dedicated community who regularly come up with new and unique ways to experience the game.
That is most definitely the case for SASUKE31 over on Nexus Mods who has created a way to delve into one of the game’s least developed romances.
Entwined – An Emperor Epilogue is a brand-new free-to-download mod for Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC.
Without spoilers, throughout the events of the game, you will be able to romance the strange-looking Emperor if you so wish but due to some story limitations, this budding love does not have the best of endings.
However, this mod aims to change that by adding new scenes starring the Emperor in the game’s epilogue if the romance was “completed” throughout the base story.
For this mod to work, you will have to “load a save from before traveling to the Morphic Pool (endgame/finale)’, according to the modder but once done, the Emperor will play an active role in the epilogue.
As mentioned, you must have completed the main romance to get this ending but additionally, you cannot have any other romances on the go with your fellow travelers.
Last but not least, the player does not have to be a fellow Illithid, but the Emperor will take a bit more convincing if you don’t share his mind-flaying powers.
What a way to end the game
Entwined – An Emperor Epilogue adds more weight to the romance by featuring a post-battle final scene at the Elfsong Tavern as well as brand-new dialogue and even the option for your Tav and the Emperor to share a romantic hug.
Despite this mod being uploaded for the first time just yesterday, it seems as though fans have been eager for more of the Emperor according to the 100 unique downloads it has already received.
