In addition to recently expressing his desire to direct a new Dead Space, Glen Schofield also spoke about Call of Duty. During his career, he worked at Sledgehammer Games, where he directed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011), Advanced Warfare, and WWII.
In an interview with VGC, Schofield discussed the future of the franchise following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision. He was skeptical, to say the least, about the saga’s success under the American giant’s leadership. He pointed to the company’s corporate culture and the failures of long-standing franchises such as Halo.
βI’m really worried about it, honestly. Because of what’s happening to Gears of War and Halo… you know what I mean? You look at EA, you look at these big companies, and I wonder, where are these great games? And so many of them are falling by the wayside.β
