Mojang’s famous franchise will soon receive a new spin-off for mobile devices. The Swedish studio has partnered with King for Minecraft Blast on iOS and Android.
Although the devs say they are still in the early stages of the project, the first images seem to show a fairly standard match-3 puzzle game. However, it could appeal to smartphone and tablet users who don’t necessarily consider themselves gamers.
Minecraft Blast will initially be available for free via small-scale tests limited to certain territories. The aim is to make it easier to gather feedback from the community. The test will begin on iOS in Malaysia and will last between one and two weeks.
